La La Love this cafe!
Welcome Back, My Matcha Mob!
Today’s adventure takes us to La La Land Café, located at 5626 Bell Avenue, Dallas, TX 75206. This spot is just one of their fourteen Dallas locations, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Unlike many of the matcha‑only venues we’ve visited, La La Land offers a full lineup: matcha, coffee, breakfast, and pastries. That alone sets it apart in our growing list of matcha destinations.
Structure & Aesthetic: A Cozy House‑Turned‑Café
The moment you walk up, you notice something different:
La La Land is literally built like a house. From the patio to the interior layout, it feels like stepping into a friend’s home, warm, inviting, and effortlessly aesthetic.
You all know how much I value a space that works for both studying and catching up with friends, and this café nails both. Whether you’re grinding through assignments or chatting over a drink, the setup supports it beautifully.
Structure Rating: 10/10
Atmosphere: Casual, Friendly, and Balanced
Inside, the vibe is exactly what a café should be. Students are studying, friend groups are catching up, and the energy is calm but lively. This balance is what makes a café feel like a community space rather than just a drink stop.
The baristas were incredibly friendly and helpful. Since it was my first time, they walked me through their most popular drinks, breakfast items, and pastries. That level of hospitality sets the tone for the entire experience.
Atmosphere Rating: 10/10
The Matcha Review: Surprisingly Impressive
Now for the moment my Matcha Mob waits for every week—the matcha.
I’ll be honest: I was skeptical at first. La La Land is a more corporate‑style café, similar to Starbucks, and those places don’t always deliver on matcha quality. But I was pleasantly surprised.
- Portion size: Fair for the price (you know I don’t play about portion sizes).
- Balance: The matcha and milk blended perfectly, neither overpowering the other.
- Customization: Of course, I added strawberries. And yes, it worked beautifully.
Overall, the matcha was a solid 9/10.
Now, the big question:
Does it compete with Hyphen Space?
Not quite. Hyphen Space still holds the crown. But La La Land definitely earns a strong spot right below it.
Final Thoughts
Matcha Mob, I hope you enjoyed this week’s review. I didn’t get to go with my usual matcha crew since everyone was busy with school or family, but the solo adventure was worth it.
I can’t wait to see where we end up next week.
Stay curious. Stay green.
Stay tuned for more Matcha Mornings with Marcus!
